Symposium: Humanities in Prison

Why study the humanities in prison? Why teach them?  What is the value of prison humanities programs for communities both inside and outside of prisons?  What humanistic texts and skills do we teach? This day-long symposium, hosted by the Interdisciplinary Humanities Center of the University of California, Santa Barbara, will explore the building of intellectual communities across systemic divides through the humanities.

 UCSB Adventure Programs is proud to host the inaugural UCSB GauchoQuest, a 48-hour adventure competition designed to encourage students, alumni, staff, faculty and our community to enjoy the outdoors! Teams will complete as many challenges as they can from the 100+ available, earning points in an attempt to win the grand prize!

Gaucho Gallop 5K & Kids 1 Mile Dash

Come out for the 11th Annual Gaucho Gallop at the 2018 All Gaucho Reunion. Proceeds from the race will go towards the UC Santa Barbara Alumni Scholarship Fund. The race's route features iconic landmarks on the UC Santa Barbara campus, from the Thunderdome, the University Center, Storke Tower, the UCSB Library and ending at Harder Stadium.
